White, White everywhere

March 29th, 2008 by shirleye

It’s the first week of spring and all around the land
white stuff is falling on animal and man
Looking for a daffodill to show it’s sunny face
but all I see is white stuff all around the place
Looking for a tulip to open up for me
But when I look around guess
guess what I see?
Will it ever stop?
Will it go away?
Oh well
Guess I.ll put on my coat
and go outside and play.

I love it! What a great way to express what I, too, think! Might as well make the best of it while it is here. We’ve got plenty of snow in Santa, too, and it just keeps coming. Spring is promised, though. I did see some crocuses trying to peek above it in my garden. Funny, they are ahead of the snowdrops this year.

You have a much better attitude than I.
I think I’ll just stoke the fire, stay in, and cry!

Just think how much we will appreciate it when spring is here for real! Today wasn’t too bad. I hear tomorrow will be nice, too. I’ll be glad when I can get to the chicken house with out skirting the still! 4 1/2′ high, 20′ long drift. It isn’t the only drift by any means, just the most bothersome.

Hey, thanks for the great poem, Shirley! I’m wishing for spring, too!
